Friday’s Most Wanted

According to LOFT, the sweater blazer is “1 piece that’ll completely change your look.” I really love this idea – you get the comfort of a sweater, with the classy look of a blazer. What a versatile piece! Here are a few of LOFT’s sweater blazer’s that I really like and are this week’s most wanted. Have a great Labor Day! I’m definitely going to enjoy the 3 day weekend.

Friday’s Most Wanted

I need this dress…but of course it costs $198. Sigh. Perhaps when it goes on sale. What I love about this dress, is that it doesn’t cling to the body. It’s a little hard to tell in the picture below, but there is a lot of extra material gathering in the front, which really contrasts well with the slim-fitting top of the dress – it’s just an overall beautiful design. I’m still searching for the perfect blue dress for my friend’s wedding. Unfortunately, the beautiful Ralph Lauren dress I wrote about in a previous post, is no longer available anywhere in my size!

Does anyone have any recommendations for where to shop for dresses, online or in store?

Monday Style Quote

“New Uses for Old Things

- Nestle tea bags scented with jasmine, mint, or vanilla into a dresser to infuse your clothes with a fresh, subtle fragrance.
- Help wet shoes preserve their shape and speed up drying by placing crumpled newspaper in them overnight.
- Get between button, where a regular iron won’t fit, with a straightening iron. Try it on collar creases and minor wrinkles too.” -realsimple.com

I read these tips from Real Simple magazine the other day, and thought they were worth sharing as this week’s style quote. Happy Monday!

Vacation Through Photographs

Instead of writing a long post about my vacation in the lovely mountain town of Asheville, NC, I have chosen some of my favorite photos from the trip. As promised in one of my previous posts, I’ve included some photos of my (and Yurij’s) new vintage purchases, and some photos of the adorable puppy we had the pleasure of meeting while on vacation. Please enjoy!

Friday’s Most Wanted

While in Asheville NC, we visited a few antique shops (one with the cutest 8 week old puppy!) and independent boutiques. At one of the antique shops, I bought a gorgeous black leather cross-body bag, from the brand Ruby London. I’ve never heard of them before, but of course went online to do some research. Ruby London is a rather popular British clothing brand, known mostly for their jeans (seen worn by Kate Moss). The products are a little on the pricier side, but surprisingly some of the pieces are actually affordable, and sold right near my apartment in NYC. NYC gals, you can find Ruby London at Lord and Taylor and Intermix.

With fall right around the corner, and since I’m a huge fan of scarves, here are a few Ruby London scarves for this week’s Friday’s Most Wanted pieces. Next week, I’ll share with you my new vintage Ruby London bag, as well as some wonderful shoes from the antique shop my boyfriend bought, and of course some photos of the little puppy.
