Friday’s Most Wanted

This week’s most wanted piece is the beautiful blue Cole Haan bag below that I saw on Refinery29.

Here’s what I love about this bag (if only I could afford it!):

– The 2 different blue colors.

– The large size (almost like a tote).

– There are so many different ways to carry it  – across your chest, on your shoulder, or held in your hand by the handles.

There are also 4 other color options for those who don’t like the blue.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend. I have actually been sick the past 3 days, and have been in bed. Hopefully I’ll be feeling better this weekend.

Friday’s Most Wanted

I think I mentioned in a previous post that Buffalo jeans are my favorite jeans – they just fit me so well (try them!). I was so happy to find that Buffalo has an exclusive line now being sold at JCPenney of all places! JCPenney is really impressing me lately with their re-branding. The retailer is adding exclusive lines from big labels such as Buffalo, Mango, and one of my all-time favorites Joe Fresh. I’ve been eyeing these maroon colored Buffalo pants at JCPenney for a week (perfect color for the fall), and yesterday couldn’t help it, so bought a pair. They are today’s Friday’s Most Wanted piece. Take a look at the photos below (taken early this morning, so please excuse the quality), and enjoy your weekend!

“Shopping Slang

I am a big culprit of shopstalking. One of my favorite sites to shopstalk is a UK site called www.asos.com. Have a great Monday! Start your week off right with some shopstalking today.

Friday’s Most Wanted

Fall is almost here, and that means the return of Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte’s (my absolute favorite!), scarves, jeans, and boots (also my absolute favorite). The other day my co-worker and I checked out the latest boot collection at DSW, and I found a pair I really liked by Audrey Brooke. I’m looking for a tall knee length brown boot that matches with everything, and these met the description. Take a look at some of Audrey Brooke’s boots below. Any suggestions of where else to shop for great fall boots?

This weekend is my friend’s wedding. Yes, the wedding, which I have written many posts about in search of the perfect dress. I finally found one, although it was not what I expected, but sometimes that’s just how it works! I am so excited for her and for her big day – it should be tons of fun! Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Today’s style quote has been inspired by an amazing runway show I saw last night, where designer Zang Toi showcased his Summer/Spring 2013 collection during MBFW (he received a standing ovation!). I was truly blown away by his pieces. Zang Toi has a rare talent, where he is able to design beautiful clothing that is modern and unique, but at the same time chic and classy. I took a ton of photos at the show, but unfortunately none of them came out very well due to the lighting. The photos below are some of my favorite pieces from Zang Toi’s website. Check it out here.

Here are some of Zang Toi’s Spring/Summer 2012 Trends:

  • Colors – off-white, black, grey, light pink, light yellow, lavender.
  • Women’s and men’s pin-striped suits.
  • Full length gowns with low-cut backs.
  • Long jackets which reach mid-calf, with a solitary button right below the chest.
  • High collars.
  • Tulle and sequined accents.
*Photos below are not from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection. They are from Zang Toi’s website, specifically his Spring and Fall 2012 collections.

Friday’s Most Wanted

In celebration of last night’s Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) in NYC, I headed over to an event at Bergdorf Goodman. In addition to the delicious cupcakes they were serving (seriously, delicious), almost literally walking into Rachel Zoe (clumsy as always), I had a chance to look at all the high-end fashion. This week’s most wanted, is this gorgeous teal colored Diane Von Furstenberg (DVF) dress that I saw at the store. Not only do I love the bright color for fall, but I can imagine pairing this dress with a lovely pair of brown or muted orange boots, and some textured stockings.

I will be covering a few shows and events during this week’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (MBFW). If you’d like to read any of this coverage, please visit my Examiner.com column. While the majority of my article’s will be posted on Examiner.com, I will make sure to dedicate a post with Spring/Summer 2013’s latest runway trends and photos. Have a very happy weekend!

Tuesday Style Quote

“Absolutely they hurt. Absolutely! I’m not going to lie. But no pain, no gain, as they say. I don’t mind. I will suffer. I don’t wear heels every day, but when I’m out, that’s how I feel confident.” -Victoria Beckham, admitting that her sky-high heels often induce sky-high pain

While I get where Victoria Beckham is coming from, I’m more for finding shoes that are both cute and comfy (although heels really do seem to accentuate the legs). Since yesterday was Labor Day, I took the day off to relax, and instead am posting a “Tuesday Style Quote.” Hope you all had a great holiday.
