After spending the weekend doing some consignment/vintage shopping (bought 9 pieces of clothing and 1 pair of shoes for $74!), I thought this quote was appropriate. Below are some pics from Monk Vintage in Williamsburg, Brooklyn – check it out for some great deals. Be prepared to spend some time looking through racks and racks of both women’s and men’s clothing, shoes, and tons of accessories (it’s totally worth it!). The store is small but very well-organized, so you won’t feel too overwhelmed.
In honor of Vince Camuto and his recent passing (RIP), this week’s Friday’s most wanted item is a Vince Camuto watch. I’ve been wanting a rose gold watch, and this one has a nice thick masculine band with some lovely feminine touches, such as baguette and round Swarovski crystals here and there.
“The first step to getting the thing you want out of life is this: decide what you want.” – Ben Stein
A little inspirational thought for the week from Ben Stein, actor, writer, and lawyer, famously known for his lines “Anyone, anyone,” “Bueller, Bueller,” in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Today’s Friday’s Most Wanted are a pair of Tom’s Black Wool Nepal Boots. I’m loving the colorful muted pattern and leather lace-up detail, and the best part is that every pair of shoes you purchase from Tom’s, someone in need receives a pair of shoes! I would probably pair these with my favorite boyfriend jeans and a chunky knit (comfy-cozy outfit all around). See, I knew I could put my shopping addiction to good use. Happy Friday everyone!
After looking through some old posts on TSE (The Striped Elephant), I have become inspired to write more and more regularly (it’s really what I love to do!). It’s time to forget about that (after-work) laziness and get back in tune with my creativity. I read the quote below somewhere, and thought it was an appropriate way to start off the week, especially given my recent thoughts and the context of this post. Happy Monday and have a great week!
I would like to apologize for being MIA so frequently lately, and promise you more regular posts! It’s always such a shame when life gets in the way of writing. One of my latest endeavors has been working on an online writing portfolio – check it out if you feel so inclined (it’s also located in the “Writing Services” section at the top of the blog). It’s still in the works, and not yet 100% complete.
Hope everyone had a happy and healthy holiday season, and enjoy your weekend!
