After spending the weekend doing some consignment/vintage shopping (bought 9 pieces of clothing and 1 pair of shoes for $74!), I thought this quote was appropriate. Below are some pics from Monk Vintage in Williamsburg, Brooklyn – check it out for some great deals. Be prepared to spend some time looking through racks and racks of both women’s and men’s clothing, shoes, and tons of accessories (it’s totally worth it!). The store is small but very well-organized, so you won’t feel too overwhelmed.
I’m a huge animal lover, and this vintage zebra necklace reminded me of this really awesome elephant necklace I also have (which I actually bought at a Ukrainian church store). It’s very simple, but at the same time so unique – look at the cute zebra stripes! I’m so happy that it’s Memorial Day weekend. That means Monday off, woo. Time to do nothing and relax for once (well hopefully). Hope you all have a great holiday!
I always get e-mail blasts from Fab.com, and this week clicked on a picture of vintage necklaces. Little did I know, the prices would range from $68-$1,770. Of course my favorite necklace was the most expensive one – a little out of my price range, but I still wanted to share it with you all.
The necklace is made by designer Mark Armstrong Peddigrew. He collects eclectic little treasures from around the world – flea markets, antique fairs, and estate sales – and creates unique jewelry with them.
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! The bf and I are traveling to visit my family this weekend for Easter (we’re Ukrainian Orthodox and Catholic, and follow a different calendar). Can’t wait to see the fam, play with my pup, and play the piano!
I love Refinery29, and am subscribed to their e-mail blasts for 3 cities, so I get them everyday. I really love this vintage black/white leather top from Maeven, a Brooklyn based thrift store featured on Refinery29. Very unique look and cut – especially since the colors are separated with what looks like camera film. There’s only 1 left…someone grab it before it’s gone (I actually wrote this yesterday night, so it might already be gone by now, sorry)!
While in Asheville NC, we visited a few antique shops (one with the cutest 8 week old puppy!) and independent boutiques. At one of the antique shops, I bought a gorgeous black leather cross-body bag, from the brand Ruby London. I’ve never heard of them before, but of course went online to do some research. Ruby London is a rather popular British clothing brand, known mostly for their jeans (seen worn by Kate Moss). The products are a little on the pricier side, but surprisingly some of the pieces are actually affordable, and sold right near my apartment in NYC. NYC gals, you can find Ruby London at Lord and Taylor and Intermix.
With fall right around the corner, and since I’m a huge fan of scarves, here are a few Ruby London scarves for this week’s Friday’s Most Wanted pieces. Next week, I’ll share with you my new vintage Ruby London bag, as well as some wonderful shoes from the antique shop my boyfriend bought, and of course some photos of the little puppy.
